The African Combine
South Africa’s first MLB-standard high-performance baseball & softball precinct: where Africa’s best athletes are developed, verified and introduced to the world.
69,000m²+ built for the global game
The African Combine is planned as a precinct of 69,000m² or more in Gauteng, with the land asset being finalised. The master plan is being designed with RDG Planning & Design, a US firm with 60 years of sports architecture behind it.
The precinct runs 365 days a year, combining elite development, sports technology, education, sports tourism and family entertainment.
The Arena
An MLB-standard floodlit main diamond for broadcast, night leagues and touring series.
Softball fields
Dedicated softball fields and a women’s pathway from the start.
The Lab
Indoor hitting and pitching labs, plus strength and conditioning.
The Residence
Dormitories for out-of-province prospects and touring international teams.
From raw talent to export-ready
Discover
Club, schools and community programmes put a bat in thousands of hands and spot raw potential.
Develop
The TDSL and academy camps build skill through structured coaching and competition.
Verify
Biometric testing and game data turn potential into numbers scouts trust.

Closing the verification gap
Scouts can’t sign what they can’t measure. Every Taipans prospect builds a verified performance profile.
- NPI Presidential Score: verified biometrics from the National Performance Institute, rating acceleration, agility, power and strength endurance.
- Pitching and hitting data: lab technology including HitTrax, Rapsodo and Trackman for exit velocity, launch angle, spin and more.
- Player development reports: plain-language reports for athletes, coaches and parents, with a 30-day development plan.
